Ice and Cold Water Emergency Response Training Exercise to Take Place on Toronto Islands February 14, 18 and 26

Toronto (February 12, 2020) – From approximately 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on February 14, 18 and 26, 2020, the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Fire Department will conduct an ice and cold water rescue training session on the Toronto Islands. During this time, Island residents may witness emergency simulations involving emergency responders in the icy water wearing dry suits and headwear while utilizing specialized equipment such as Marsars boards, which act as floating stretchers, rescue rings, throw bags that contain rope and reach poles.
