Public Meeting for PortsToronto's Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Master Planning Exercise

11/03/2015
Ports Toronto is undertaking an Airport Master Planning Exercise at the request of Toronto City Council and as part of the proposed introduction of jet aircraft at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (BBTCA) and extension of the land mass at each end of the main runway by 200 metres.

Building on the existing 2012 Airport Master Plan for BBTCA, the Master Planning Exercise will assess the infrastructure improvements required to accommodate the introduction of jet aircraft, the extension of the main runway and the associated future activity that might be anticipated as a result. An open house and public meeting will be held on Tuesday March 31st, 2015 at the Allstream Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto. This open house and public meeting will be dedicated to the Master Planning Exercise and Preliminary Runway Design. A future public meeting specific to the on-going Environmental Assessment is being planned in April.

The Tuesday March 31st public meeting will involve an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for members of the public to review details on poster boards and be able to ask questions of subject matter experts related to the preliminary runway design.  Following the open house, a presentation will be provided at 7:00 pm by PortsToronto consultants WSP with a question and answer period after the presentation.
