Ship Channel Bridge Rehabilitation Project

24/02/2025

Toronto (February 24 , 2025) – Structural steel repairs, cleaning and coating of the structure are currently underway as part of a project by PortsToronto in partnership with the City of Toronto to rehabilitate the Ship Channel Bridge, a vital piece of infrastructure supporting Toronto’s supply chain. This steel rehabilitation work began on January 27, 2025, and the bridge is currently restricted to a single lane of vehicle traffic. Northbound and southbound vehicle traffic will be accommodated by alternating access to the single lane, controlled by temporary directional traffic lights. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained via either the east or west sidewalk. Please be aware and follow all signage posted on site.

Updates on this work will continue to be provided through these channels.
