Structural Repair of Leslie Street Spit Floating Pedestrian Swing Bridge to be Completed May 14
In early February, PortsToronto removed the Leslie Street Spit floating pedestrian swing bridge in order to complete necessary structural repairs. For pedestrian safety, access to this area will be prohibited during the rehabilitation phase, and will resume upon completion of this project.
The Leslie Street Spit floating pedestrian bridge serves to secure the third Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) via silt curtain that is installed on the bottom of the bridge, and to provide safe pedestrian traffic access to the endikement roadway leading to the east headlands. Rehabilitation of the bridge is necessary to prevent unplanned maintenance/repair work and to ensure a safe environment for park users.
