PortsToronto Announces New Member of its Leadership Team — Captain Satinder Singh Joins as Vice President, Marine

Toronto (January 7, 2024) — PortsToronto is pleased to announce that Captain Satinder Singh will be joining its leadership team as Vice President, Marine, effective January 27, 2025.   

Most recently serving as the Vice President Operations and Harbour Master at the Nanaimo Port Authority, Captain Satinder Singh brings more than 25 years of distinguished leadership in the marine industry to his role as Vice President, Marine at PortsToronto. Captain Singh has also served as Harbour Master at the Queens Harbour Master at the Department of National Defense, as well as Master and Chief Officer of Vancouver Cruises and Valles Steamships.

Captain Singh holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Maritime Management from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and sits on many maritime industry boards and committees including serving as Chair of the Sustainability Committee of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities (ACPA). Recognized for his strategic vision and operational expertise, Captain Singh has a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive efficiency, sustainability, and stakeholder collaboration.

The Vice President, Marine position is a new leadership role at PortsToronto, and was created to take the Port of Toronto and maritime businesses to the next level by focusing on sustainability, commercial development and growth to ensure the Port, Outer Harbour Marina and other areas of PortsToronto’s maritime businesses continue to drive the connectivity and economic prosperity of Toronto.
