Skytrax World Airport Awards Ranks Billy Bishop Airport One of North America’s Best
On March 14, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport was recognized as one of the best airports in North America at the Skytrax World Airport Awards in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The airport was ranked the ninth best regional airport in North America, making it one of only two regional airports in Canada to be recognized in the category. This is the fourth year the airport has received this award. This year, Billy Bishop Airport was also ranked the ninth best airport globally in the under 5 million passenger category.
The Skytrax Awards are the result of the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey in the world, with 13.8 million surveys having been completed by air travellers across 105 nationalities for 550 airports located across the globe. The Skytrax Awards recognize only the best in air travel and the inclusion of Billy Bishop Airport is yet another testament to the incredible service and overall experience we provide to those who travel through our airport each and every day.
The Skytrax awards mark the fifth international passenger-driven award received by Billy Bishop Airport this month. On March 6, the airport was named Best Airport in North America in two categories and tied for second globally in the Airports Council International’s (ACI) 2016 Airport Service Quality Awards. In 2016, the airport was also named as having one of the Top Ten Most Beautiful Airport Approaches in the world by Private Fly and was ranked fourth Best International Airport by Condé Nast Traveler in October 2016.
